Return & Refund Policy

Barn Owl has a 45-day refund policy on all domestic camera orders. If a customer is unsatisfied with the product, they can return it within 45 days of the date of delivery for a full refund.

Return shipping is free for all camera orders and a return label will be provided upon request. Once a return label has been provisioned, customers must ship items back within 30 days.

A restocking fee of 15% will apply if items are returned more than 30 days from the date that your return label is generated. All items within your order must be returned to qualify for a full refund. Refunds will be credited upon receipt of the returned items within 7-10 business days.

Product Warranty

The Limited Warranty covers Camera and Solar Panel defects in material or workmanship under normal use during the Warranty Period of 2 years from date of purchase.

Barn Owl will replace, at no charge, Cameras and Solar Panels that prove defective under normal use. Replaced products assume the remaining warranty period of the original product.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Malfunctions or damage not resulting from defects in material or workmanship, Theft or loss, or accessories.

Barn Owl Care

Previously called “Camera Insurance”, Barn Owl Care is an optional service that protects the user’s cameras.

Barn Owl Care Benefits & Pricing

Barn Owl Care pricing is tiered, with lower pricing for more cameras, and is applied to all Active or Suspended cameras associated with an account. Barn Owl Care can not be applied to a portion of the account’s cameras. The total fee will be calculated at the end of each month based on the number of cameras in your account.

Barn Owl Care Opt-in

The option to turn on Barn Owl Care is available under User Profile > Billing in the Barn Owl App. Barn Owl Care fees are associated with the account’s billing cycle. When Barn Owl Care is turned On, it protects the cameras for the billing cycle following payment.


To initiate a Barn Owl Care claim, contact customer service. The Deductible depends on the product being replaced. Shipping costs are covered by the Deductible fee. If the camera model being replaced is discontinued or not in stock, Barn Owl may choose a different model of a similar price point (within $100 retail price) as a replacement.

Camera Insurance Policy

Camera Insurance is provided as an option and is charged as a monthly fee of $11 per month.

Insurance is selected when activating the camera in the Barn Owl App.

The option to turn on Insurance is in the "Manage Cameras" section of the Barn Owl App. Insurance must be selected within 7 days of camera activation.

The Insurance Policy provides one “no fault, no questions asked” camera replacement per year, defined as 365 days from the purchase date of the original camera. Shipping costs will be paid by the customer.

If customers require more than one camera replacement within the 365 day period, they can purchase additional replacement cameras at a 20% discount off the current retail price, assuming they continued to pay the insurance fee.

If the insurance fee is terminated or not paid, the insurance policy for that specific camera account (not the customer account) cannot be re-instated.
